Pain or Payne???

Today Sophie was playing with the water in the sink as I was doing my hair and I repeatedly asked her to stop. I then said, "Sophie please don't be a pain. I asked you to stop playing in the water."

Sophie: "I am not a Payne.... Grandma is a Payne."

I had a good laugh. I love my silly girl.

So I feel a little ashamed that we have had a new member in our family since June and I haven't introduced him. Everyone...... meet Duke. He was born on April 17th. We are at a petting zoo in June and the owners were selling these cute little German Shepherd puppies. Joe feel in love with him. He loves to go trail running and loves going to the Bark park to play with his friends. He reminds me of Marley from Marley and Me bc sometimes he can be such a pain but we love him so much. He is huge! Just under 9 months but weighting 86 pounds a month ago.

He is Baaaaaaaaaccccckkk!

Back at work that is. After a nice long month of having Joe home from work, he went back today. His recovery has went well so far. He is still having some pain, but he is walking around, drive carry up to 10 pounds and the most exciting part..... CHANGE DIAPERS AGAIN! I think I am more excited about that than he is, but changing 2 babies diapers a day all day for 30 days gets a little old and not to mention stinky. He will be working light duty for a couple of months and then he will go back to the Dr. to see if he will go back to full-duty or stay on light for a longer period of time. Today we found out that he will be working day shift and have weekends off while he is on light-duty! What a treat! :) Doing paper work while on graveyard shirt would be very tiring. So we will be spoiled with amazing hours and days off for a couple of months. It will be nice to have a "normal" life again with normal working hours and days off. Joe still cant hold the twins. Every 2 weeks he can increase his weight lifting 2 pounds so he wont be able to hold them for another 12 weeks! Eeeek! That sounds like a long time. It makes shopping and interesting matter. I cant leave the kids alone with Joe bc he cant lift them so he usually goes to the store with me and all the kids. We put them in a shopping cart that has the 2 big seats facing the shopping cart. Sophie and one of the boys sit there and the other boy sits in the cart. Since Joe cant push yet I push the cart. Some days all the kids began to cry and it gets stressful bc I cant hold them and push the cart. When it gets to this point I am always afraid of someone mentioning to Joe, "Why is she pushing the cart? You should be." I am a very patient and non-confrontational person but if this ever happens I am afraid I will explode on them and tell them "He just had neck surgery! Mind your own business!" Lets just hope that doesn't happen. :) Happy New Year!
